one of my larger series, “dream sequence” examines the subconscious.  my subconscious thoughts, emotions, and fears are at times disjointed, pervasive, and layered.  unreality often washes over the conscious, logical state of mind in a blend of colors and textures; the brush strokes connect and communicate to saturate the canvas.  ultimately, the act of achieving a state of true comfort is elusive at best; the subconscious state becomes a metaphor for the greater desire to function normally or routinely in an unpredictable world.
